History is the understanding of who we were, who we are, and who we will be. The mission of the historical department of the Village of Washingtonville is to collect and preserve artifacts and materials pertaining to the Village for present and future generations to gain an appreciation of their community.
Public awareness of the past is imperative to its future. It is the vision of the historical department to promote public knowledge of the village and serve as a source of information for community people interested in our village. The historical department is interested in acquiring photos, artifacts and materials to add to its growing collection of village history. If you have items that you would wish to donate, please contact village hall. The department is seeking interested persons in establishing a village historical society. Please consider becoming a member and help to preserve the heritage of the village.
